Overview

The Calvin Center for Faith & Writing (CCFW) champions faithful and intelligent conversation at the intersection of religious belief and literature. The CCFW was created in 2016 to build on the rich heritage of the Festival of Faith & Writing (est. 1990), and to offer events, resources, and sustained scholarship for readers of all ages. Our initiatives and programs include the Hudson-Townsend Publishing Institute, a regional literary arts calendar, the Rewrite Radio podcast, and the biennial Festival of Faith & Writing, which draws more than 2,000 people for three days of lectures, readings, and conversation. Since the Festival's first gathering, we have been privileged to host hundreds of writers, including Maya Angelou, John Updike, Elie Wiesel, Marilynne Robinson, Zadie Smith, Miroslav Volf, Salman Rushdie, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, George Saunders, Christian Wiman, Jonathan Safran Foer, Tobias Wolff, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Mary Karr, Joyce Carol Oates, Philip Yancey, Anne Lamott, Ann Voskamp, Michael Chabon, and many others.
