The School of Rural Development, Tuljapur campus, was established with the mission of promoting social justice and initiatives for sustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development for rural communities. The SRD goes beyond offering educational courses and actively works with rural communities exposed to environmental vulnerabilities and unjust socioeconomic and political orders. While catering to the demand for professionals and social innovators in the livelihood, policy and rural development sectors, the institute is equally committed to building the capacity of frontline workers and evolving alternative experimental action programmes aimed at livelihood, social entrepreneurship and institution-building.
