Overview

Can you read this? "Reading ingredient lists on food is not a probem!" is easy to think. However... lots of children have not learned to read. Dyslectics can't read and/or understand. 50% of the Norwegian population over 40 years sometimes have problems reading the ingredient lists on food. And at last: There are lots of people who just can't handle reading long ingredient lists, written with very small letters, with low contrast, on the edge... Ingredient lists are not universal designed! People with diet-related illnesses often have a low quality of life, not only becasue they are ill, but also because it's difficult to navigate in the grocery store, know what to eat, reading ingredient lists, understand the ingredients-lists... And at last: It's difficult being social. Sadly our research have shown that a lot of people with food-related illnesses very often get isolated because they never feel safe outside their own home, or they don't want to be a difficult guest. On top of all this, it's close to impossible to get qualified help if you have a diet-related illness. Maybe because it's not life-threatening? Although we KNOW that it's much cheaper and easier to prevent than to treat, this is the situation in 2022. CanEat can solves all this! We have been funded by Innovation Norway, we are collaborating with the Norwegian foundation for celiac and supported by "Nasjonal Kompetansesenter for Funksjonelle Mage- og tarmsykdommer". We have our office at Eitri medical incubator (connected to Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen) and we have been in Impact Startup Norways accellerator. Do you have a diet-related illness and are curious about how CanEat can help you? Or mayby you're an investor? Wanting to know what you are eating is not only a trend, it's the future. If you are an investor eager to follow us into the future, please contact me: cecilie@caneat.no and I will tell you all about how CanEat can help this huge, underserved, group of people.
