Overview
The Cambridge Centre for Evidence-Based Policing applies research evidence to improve policing practices worldwide. Evidence-based policing (EBP) is a global society movement by and among police professionals, who apply research evidence to improve policing practices. The Cambridge Centre's founder was Professor Lawrence Sherman, a world-renowned police innovator and educator, he has led over thirty police experiments with over 15,000 Google citations. Sherman’s Triple-T framework of Targeting, Testing and Tracking can put EBP into practice in any police agency, at any level. Professor Sheman moved left the Centre in October 2022 to take up a position with the Metropolitan Police Service in London
