Calvary Baptist Church is a place committed to carrying out the Great Commission, by healing hurts and meeting needs. We hope that your visit here will encourage you to visit us in person. We’d love the opportunity meet you and get to know you and to serve you. We are all about introducing people to Christ and loving one another as we reach Columbus, Georgia for Christ. We are a moderate sized church with a variety of ages, races, colors, national origins and Christian backgrounds, united by our commitment to follow Jesus Christ and serve him at home and around the world. We believe that our people are the church and that our responsibility is to live for Christ in all that we do. Family friendly doesn’t mean that we only focus on people who come with spouse and two and half children. It means that we are committed to meeting the spiritual needs of all ages and that every age, marital status, and family type will find open arms and a place to connect at Calvary. It means our variety of ministries attempt to cover the broad spectrum of interests and needs for men, women, singles, couples, students, children, preschool and babies. It means we care about everyone from birth to senior adults. The Calvary mission statement for the past 40 years has been, “Carrying our The Great Commission through healing hurts and meeting needs.” Calvary people understand that “every member is a minister, and every minister has a ministry.” Some of the ministry takes place on our 56 acre campus. Some of it involves mission work around the world through our local Southern Baptist Association, North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, and ministries like Hopegivers International in India, and Living Hope Mission in Haiti.
