Overview

California Energy & Power (CE&P) is the leading expert in Vertical-Axis-Wind-Turbine (VAWT) technologies. A Vertical-Axis-Wind-Turbine’s axis of rotation is vertical relative to the ground (visualize that it is more like a ceiling fan than a traditional “horizontal” windmill-type wind turbine). We have developed and deployed the first viable utility-scale VAWT that provides a scalable wind energy electricity generation solution to locations where large wind turbines are either undesirable or are not feasible. Our core patented concentrator design doubles the turbine’s efficiency relative to other VAWTs. We generate sustainable electricity from the wind over the broadest range of wind conditions of all wind turbines currently on the market. Our simple CALI series wind turbine product line is designed with fewer components, which translates into a dramatic reduction in O&M costs, ownership autonomy, and increased profits for the operators. Wildlife and bird safety, which is a serious issue for the wind industry, has always been a concern for CE&P. The patented concentrator poses both a visual and physical obstacle to prevent birds and bats from entering the rotor zone. Our CE&P solution is a safe wildlife solution. At the height of just above an average tree, CE&P’s sleek, compact, low noise design blends in with the landscape. Our turbines are perfectly designed for urban, rural, eco-sensitive, and remote island environments. We are the first to deliver a solution for locations prone to hurricane/typhoon storm conditions with our CAT 5 option (CAT5- Category 5 deployable in areas that experience sustained winds > 156 MPH or 69.7 m/sec). Cali is scalable to produce utility-grade power in distributed generation facilities at power densities from 36 kW up to 5000kW. Cali turbines can be deployed and serviced in remote locations without the need for a crane. We are pioneering and delivering distributed wind and solar-generated to Remote microgrid markets.
