Swag, also known as merch, or promotional products, relates to customised and branded items used for promotional purposes, and includes drink bottles, t-shirts, and mugs. Last year alone, swag was a $17.5bn in industry in the US, however; what is not really known, is what happens to swag after it’s distributed? Do recipients really want swag? What are its lifetime costs? Buzz Swag is developing a software analytics solution to help marketing departments within enterprise better understand the whole-of-life costs (financial, environmental and societal), as well as impact, of swag to facilitate conscious corporate consumption of these products. Buzz Swag leverages gamification and user data to track and report usage of swag, and through doing so, provide actionable insight designed to improve return on investment of swag and encourage responsible consumption.
