BtrLyf® connects the building industry through open source Digital Twins for making informed and quick decisions in a $7 trillion building retrofit market. We use Digital Twinning principle based on Building Physics and AI to be able to predict and manage building performance through connection of sustainable technologies and funds. Our solution is based on the concept of 'Virtual Audits' that provides a way for remote, quick and low-cost energy assessments for buildings to start with. We have further combined this with augmented intelligence and collaboration technology to enhance stakeholder engagement and valuable data analytics. This is offered on a convenient cloud-based platform that connects stakeholders and offers them value-adding apps. The built environment sector is the largest contributor to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Buildings use about 40 % of global energy, 25 % of global water, 40 % of global resources, and emit approximately 30 % of GHG emissions. These emissions are set to double by 2050 if we carry on business as usual. The current decarbonization approach in the industry is heavily reliant on experts that perform manual audits (energy assessments) that are time-consuming, inefficient, and costly. The built environment stakeholders such as building owners, facility managers, tech providers and financiers are not fully engaged in the process. This creates a barrier for rapid adoption of sustainable solutions in the industry. We will help accelerate the adoption of energy efficient/sustainable solutions through digitizing the whole industry ecosystem with our Open Source Digital Twins Collaborative tech platform. As a market accelerator, our solution will create more jobs and push the green economy further. With the digital approach, we will make green buildings highly accessible and economical for the society.
