Overview

Browns Community Services were founded in December 2015 with aim of helping women and men and families living in Surrey and Berkshire break trans-generational cycles of behaviours such as offending, substance use, poor mental health, domestic violence, long-term unemployment, and child exploitation. We take a holistic approach to working with people with multiple and complex needs, helping those who might otherwise be lost in the system by developing bespoke packages of support that meet their specific needs and lead them towards brighter futures. In 2019 we supported 180 people and today we have supported over 300 service users, helping them gain the confidence, self-esteem, and sense of self-worth needed for them to lead more fulfilling lives. WHAT WE DELIVER: We specialise in supporting clients who are reluctant to engage with support, many of whom have been labelled as difficult, if not impossible, to work with by other agencies. We recognised that individuals struggle to engage because they feel a lack of understanding and empathy amongst the organisations supporting them, a perception we set out to change. Each of our services is designed with the people we will be supporting at its heart. We consider how we can engage them and work to build trust, reducing any reluctance they may have to accessing support. Services are delivered 1:1 or in small groups, allowing us to get to know the people we are working with and adapt delivery to meet their specific needs. Unless a client clearly states they will no longer work with us, we never give up on the people we support, working with them no matter how complex their needs. We currently deliver services in Berkshire Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough, Reading, West Berkshire, Bracknell, Wokingham. In Surrey we Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, and Elmbridge.
