Overview

Bradford Manufacturing Week is led by West & North Yorkshire Chamber and backed by Bradford Economic Partnership. It aims to introduce the district’s manufacturers to young people and boost apprenticeship numbers by creating more inspired, informed and ‘work ready’ applicants into the sector. The brainchild of Nick Garthwaite, president of Bradford Chamber and MD of international chemicals and detergents manufacturer Christeyns. The inaugural week in 2018 engaged with half of Bradford's secondary schools and colleges, provided experiences for over 3,000 young people and gained national recognition. Prime minister, Theresa May said: “I would like to wish everyone involved in Bradford Manufacturing Week good luck for the days ahead and congratulate Bradford Chamber of Commerce, as well as the sponsors and businesses taking part, for making it happen,” “Bradford Manufacturing Week is a great opportunity to demonstrate how our strong economy and modern industrial strategy is enabling business to thrive across all sectors, as well as enabling future generations to see the potential of a career in the manufacturing industry.”
