Overview

The BVA's mission is to foster, support, and educate Boston's vegan community, and to publicly advocate veganism as the only consistent way to commit to the belief that it is wrong to cause unnecessary harm to animals. Accordingly, the Boston Vegan Association (BVA) seeks to: -Create and distribute vegan literature, such as our Respecting Animals pamphlet and our vegan nutrition guide. -Educate and support transitioning and new vegans -Speak to students of all ages about animal rights and veganism -Provide opportunities for non-vegans to try vegan food -Encourage and support the development of vegan enterprises in the Boston area, such as restaurants -Provide a community for local vegans, such as our discussion forums and events calendar, as well as through Facebook and Flickr The BVA is run by individuals who have committed to the six principles of the abolitionist approach to animal rights. We do not exist as a stand-alone organization. The BVA is a program of the International Humanities Center, a 501(c)(3) Charitable Trust: The core mission of the International Humanities Center (IHCenter) is to foster those efforts that are devoted to a vision of ecological and humanitarian stewardship that benefits all of creation. IHCenter seeks to reverse the current situation of disconnection - which has led to so much misery for all lifeforms on the planet - by assisting projects that are focused on creating a civilization centered upon peace, trust and natural harmony.
