Overview

The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center is a full-service nonprofit wildlife hospital open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We provide professional rehabilitative and veterinary services to native wildlife, taking in over 2,000 patients annually from Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland, and operate a hotline to help assess and mitigate human-wildlife issues. We also provide wildlife-specific educational programming, attending schools, events, and providing on-site education programs with about 20 non-releasable ambassador animals and biofacts, as well as training and maintaining over 50 volunteers and interns each year. Our veterinary staff is also involved with a multitude of research studies to help further our understanding of local wildlife, parasites, and many other relevant topics.
