The Blockchain Association of Cameroon (BAC) is dedicated to raising awareness, provide support, and further adoption of digital currencies such as bitcoin, and blockchain technologies among Cameroon consumers, merchants, businesses, regulators, and policy makers; and to promote studies and research and support participation in Cameroon and international partnerships and associations. Guidance • Education, Training and Certification – Bitcoin and blockchain technology is evolving rapidly and becoming more pervasive. Community and stakeholder educational and training programs are essential. The BAC will support and lead initiatives to inform and educate all stakeholders in the ecosystem. • Community outreach: Ongoing membership and community involvement will build capacity, and ensure the BAC’s sustainability and impact. Leadership • Governance: The BAC will promote good governance and best practice in a transparent and accountable fashion, and seek Cameroon and international partnerships and collaboration. • Regulation: The BAC still has much work to do to promote merchant adoption, friendlier user experience, regulatory clarification, close the gap between innovation and regulatory roadblocks to address concerns around compliance, consumer protection, KYC, fraud prevention and AML. Expertise • Startups, Incubators and Investment: The BAC will provide mentoring and guidance to startups, incubators and investors to support innovation and growth in the digital currency and blockchain technology ecosystem. • R&D: With an eclectic mix of backgrounds and experience in the blockchain industry, the BAC offers a wide array of research expertise. From compliance and regulation to developer community and position papers, the BAC acts as a central think tank for Blockchain and digital currency in Cameroon.
