Overview

Blendcor is a significant manufacturer of lubricants and grease, jointly owned by Shell and BP in South Africa. Blendcor is a joint company in which Shell Southern Africa and BP Southern Africa each own a 50/50 stake. This came about after BP Southern Africa purchased a 50% stake in the plant. Blendcor produces almost all types of grease and lubes (automotive and industrial) at its single facility, which has an annual production capacity of more than 200 million liters. Blendcor produces near full range of grease and industrial lubricants. The company operates from a 53 000m² site situated in Island View, Durban, with its frontage on 135 Honshu Road. Blendcor is registered as a company in terms of the Companies Act and operates as a cost center.
