Bio Energy Netherlands gassifies local non-recyclable waste wood to generate sustainable energy and to extract chemical resources. By processing non-recyclable waste wood, emissions from rotting are prevented, with gasification being a much cleaner process than incineration. With the produced syngas, Bio Energy Netherlands can supply green electricity and heat, even during the absence of wind or sunlight. In addition, Bio Energy Netherlands is extracting raw materials from the wood that are now mostly extracted from fossil fuels, such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide. This way, Bio Energy Netherlands is contributing both to the energy transition and to the transition to a bio-based economy.
