Overview

BINUSMUN is a Model United Nations conference held by BINUS International Relations Dialectic Society (BIRDS) alongside with the International Relations department of BINUS University. First started in 2015, it has always been one of the biggest and most anticipated events brought by BIRDS as the university’s only MUN association. In BINUS Model UN, participants are simulating a role as a country's respective representatives and encouraged to learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. In MUN, participants take on the roles of delegates and/or representations from various countries and seek to overcome crises using their allocated country's policies and perspectives. By seeking to overcome crises through the country's policies and perspectives, participants are also encourgaed to negotiate and hone their skills in diplomacy, public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership. As aforementioned, BINUS MUN gives the opportunity of university and high school students the thrill and experience of a high-scale UN Conference. In January 2022, we successfully strived to provide fresh concepts for participants to discuss that are flexible for all types of delegates from the newcomers to the seasoned veterans. By the rebranding of the BINUSMUN event, we aim to rebuild the event to be on par with the standard set by the Indonesian MUN community thus putting new heights on the standard of organizing competitive Model United Nations.
