Bibles For The World

Overview

Bibles For The World (BFTW) is a catalyst for individual and cultural transformation through Christ and the power of God's Word. Since 1971, BFTW has provided hundreds of millions of people in 123 countries with copies of the Bible, the New Testament or Scripture portions in their native language -- free of charge. The ministry was founded by Dr. Rochunga Pudaite and his wife, Mawii as a US based 501(3)(C) nonprofit organization to make God's Word available to those who have little or no access to the Gospel. Dr. Pudaite was the son of one of the first Christian converts among a tribe of fierce headhunters in northeast India. A Welsh missionary introduced the tribe to Christ through a single copy of the Gospel of John in 1910 -- and Rochunga was later commissioned by the Hmar tribe to go to school so he could learn to translate the entire Bible into the Hmar language. More than a decade after that task was completed, Ro felt called of God to make Bibles available to people throughout the world, and Bibles For The World was born. BFTW has established more than 40 Christian schools across northeast India, as well as a Christian college and seminary (Trinity College & Seminary). The ministry also built and operates Sielmat Christian Hospital, which serves poor and needy people throughout the state of Manipur in northeast India. BFTW maintains one of the most intimate and personal child sponsorship programs -- Partner Parents -- through which people can sponsor needy children in India, providing them with Christian schooling, school uniforms and shoes, books and medical care. Bibles For The World invites you to consider helping provide God's Word, and demonstrate His love and compassion, to hurting and needy people across the globe!
