Overview

Located in the heart of the Negev, Ben-Gurion University is currently home to more than 17,000 students studying every field - from science to arts and humanities. The university was founded on the vision of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, whose dream was to develop the Negev desert. With this vision in mind, Ben-Gurion University has flourished into a major center of research and education, drawing to it faculty and students from diverse backgrounds. The Student Union brings some of Israel’s most popular entertainers to campus for concerts throughout the year. The Student Union of Ben-Gurion University has been active for many years, promoting students' welfare in various fields and functions as a center of cultural, social and academic activities. The Student Union is housed in the Zlotowski Student Center where students come not only to meet friends at one of the cafeterias or cafés, but also to take advantage of the university's book store, clinics, recreation rooms and employment center. In addition, the newly completed Zlotowski Student Administration Building makes the student center the hub of student life at the university.
