Overview

The Belgian Chamber of Commerce for Southern Africa is a non-profit, member-based organization seeking to promote bilateral business relations between South Africa and Belgium. Its core objective is to be a platform of excellence for business people who are pursuing Belgian related commercial activities in South Africa. At the same time, it seeks to be a reference-networking platform in South Africa for people with an interest in Belgium. Its business network extends to all economic sectors in South Africa. The BCCSA creates an informative support structure for new arrivals in South Africa from Belgium, organizes socio-economic and business events, lectures and workshops but also bring people together through more social and informal events. The BCCSA works closely with the Belgian Embassy and Consulate and the different regional government agencies of Belgium. Key indicators: - Founded in 1993 - Present in Johannesburg and Cape Town - +150 Members, of which 60% are corporates Yearly events - Business breakfasts with prominent decision makers, CEO's or politicians; - Networking events: New Year Reception, joint functions with other chambers, etc.; - Annual Belgian Market Day, promoting Belgian SME's; - Workshops on doing business in SA or Belgium, regulatory updates; - Business presentations by corporate members; - Events in association with the Belgian Embassy: National Day celebration, networking dinner; - Social events for the Belgian community: Easter, St Nicholas or sport events.
