Overview

The International College of Beijing Forestry University was established in March 2002 and started its independent operations on December 6, 2020. Its main responsibilities are but are not limited to: enrolling, training and managing international students in China. It is in charge of introducing international high-quality educational resources, as well as organizing and promote international exchanges and cooperation. The enrolment of international students in our University can be traced back to the beginning of the University in 1952, and by then, the students were mainly from the Soviet Union, North Korea, and Vietnam. It was one of the first colleges in New China to accept international students. Currently, our University has cultivated more than 5,000 international students of various categories and has become an institution that can accept students sponsored by the Chinese government scholarship, the foreign aid academic program scholarship of the Ministry of Commerce, the Beijing government scholarship, the Beijing “Belt and Road” special scholarship, and the Beijing “Belt and Road” national talent training Base and Asia-Pacific Forest Network Scholarship Program. So far, BFU has established 13 “first-class” postgraduate-level English programs and 58 courses in English for international students. "Forestry Economic Management" has been awarded the "English-taught branded course in China" by the Ministry of Education hence becoming the only university among forestry colleges and universities that has such branded courses. The master of Forestry Economics Management program has successfully passed the evaluation by the international expert's group of "Asia Pacific Forest Networks" organization. At present, the University has more than 300 international students from more than 70 countries, of which the proportion of academic programs students accounts for more than 90%.
