Overview

WELCOME TO SKIING Atomic was born in the Austrian Alps in 1955. Founder Alois Rohrmoser handcarved race skis that would give an edge to the most successful athletes of that era. The brand’s modern-day headquarters are still located in the Pongau Valley, just five kilometers from Rohrmoser’s original workshop. This history and heritage continue to be the foundation of Atomic’s identity, from the early days of handmade wooden skis to the skis that grace the tops of World Cup podiums and remote peaks around the world today. SKIED AROUND THE WORLD The manufacturer designs and produces skis used by some of the top skiers in the world across every discipline. From World-Cup racing to the X-Games, Nordic to Ski-mountaineering to the most demanding backcountry-skiing objectives, skiers like Mikaela Shiffrin, Hermann Maier, and Chris Bentchetler have all trusted their careers to Atomic. In turn, these and many other elite skiers provide feedback from the highest levels of competition and performance to help guide R&D and innovation at Atomic, thereby shaping and guiding the focus of the brand. WE ARE SKIING Today Atomic employs around 1000 people at their Pongau Valley headquarters. Here, they produce over 400,000 pairs of skis each year. For more than 65 years the brand has been synonymous with skiing, and each member of the Atomic family continues to contribute to that identity. From R&D to marketing professionals, to pro athletes and the craftsmen who leave the finishing touches on each product, each person lives and breathes the sport of skiing. Atomic is a company founded by a skier, and continues to be a brand for skiers, by skiers.
