Overview

At the ATKV we're all about Afrikaans and the way our language (in)forms our culture. Our main focuses determine our activities and are defined by arts, language, education and social welfare programs. We manage over 30 projects annually in these focus areas, ranging from music to film, child welfare and reaching out to less fortunate schools. The ATKV is supported by over 300 branches nationwide. These branches have developed 900 customised, community-based projects that aim to uplift the communities in which they operate. Our business division includes seven superb South-African holiday resorts, offering affordable yet quality accommodation and facilities. Our resorts are ATKV-Klein-Kariba, ATKV-Buffelspoort, ATKV-Eiland Spa, ATKV-Drakensville, ATKV-Natalia, ATKV-Hartenbos and ATKV-Goudini Spa. The ATKV has recently launched Negester: a retirement village development adjacent to ATKV-Klein-Kariba as well as in Onrusrivier, 20kms from Hermanus. It offers smart investment opportunities for the young and the young at heart, who can retire peacefully in the beauty and calm of the bushveld or the tranquility and sunsets of the coast. Recently added to our portfolio is the Hartenbos Seafront, a lifestyle retail development in Hartenbos on the Cape South Coast. This development will include retail space, restaurants and coffee shops, a water and fun park, entertainment facilities and parking both for our ATKV Hartenbos resort guests as well as visitors to the town of Hartenbos. As a member-driven organisation, we are supported by over 66 000 paying households representing over 220 000 individuals. Members enjoy many benefits.
