Overview

Athena fund promotes the empowerment of teachers in Israel by providing them with tools for self-fulfillment and professional advancement. Named after the Goddess of Wisdom in Greek mythology, Athena was founded by several prominent business leaders under the direction of President Uri Ben-Ari (CEO of UBA Ventures and former Executive VP of Ness Technologies). A non-profit organization established in 2006, Athena Fund is supported by donors from the philanthropic third sector in Israel and abroad, as well as by donors from the Israeli business sector. To date, Athena Fund has made great strides providing laptops, tablets and iPads, along with professional training, to over 30,400 school and kindergarten teachers in 179 local authorities across Israel. Our newest project, ImagineBox, introduces the classroom of the future and the immersive technology into the Israeli Education System. Athena Fund has been recognized globally for its success, including receiving a Special Consultative Status from the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) ,and receiving membership to the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).
