ATypI: Association Typographique Internationale

Graphic Design

Overview

ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale) is a mission-driven nonprofit membership organization dedicated to type and typography. Founded in 1957, ATypI provides a structure for communication, information, education, inspiration, innovation, and action in the international type community. We not only preserve the culture, tradition, and history of type and typography, we also promote contemporary digital fonts and creators, encourage outstanding typography and typographic design, and publish resources and other materials on type and design. We encourage innovation, inclusivity, sharing, and collaboration, and support those who are doing the same. We produce in-person, online, and hybrid conferences, workshops, seminars, and other relevant events. Every four to six years, ATypI awards the Prix Charles Peignot for Excellence in Type Design to a designer under the age of 35 who has made an outstanding contribution to type design. ATypI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of California, USA.
