Overview

ASLI is the Association of Sign Language Interpreters in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are the professional association and support network for British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters in these countries. Our membership includes those who work as Interpreters and Deaf and Hearing people who support our aims: * To encourage good practice in Sign Language Interpreting. * To represent the interests and views of BSL Interpreters and the interpreting profession in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Establised in 1987, our members have worked tirelessly and, for the most part, voluntarily to: * Maintain and improve standards of service within our profession. * Raise awareness of sign language interpretering within the Deaf and mainstream communities. * Lobby government and regulatory bodies in order to achive high levels of recognition and provision wherever possible.
