Established in 1958, Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington is the area's leading construction management association, providing advocacy for free enterprise and the merit shop philosophy. ABC of Metro Washington member firms look to our organization for education, training, workforce development, employee and company benefits, legislative advocacy, regulatory support, networking,and business development programs. Our organizational profile: - With a membership of more than 500 firms, we are among the top 10 largest ABC chapters in the nation. - Our membership base includes more than 150 small, minority-owned, and women-owned firms. - ABC of Metro Washington's members include general contractors, specialty contractors, trade specialists, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, architects, engineers, developers and other construction-related consultants and professional associates. - Our members primarily specialize in commercial construction and build schools, hospitals, government buildings, recreational facilities, commercial centers, industrial plants, roads, bridges, museums, churches and many other types of structures - ABC of Metro Washington currently has 13 committees, overseeing activities in legislative affairs, management education, apprenticeship and craft training, safety, business development, and other organizational priorities.
