Worldwide Functionality: ‘Ard is a precision prayer time app that is easy to use. Anywhere in your city, country, continent, in the air, or on the high seas, you can access prayer times from your phone. Using GPS, 'Ard can find prayer times that are astronomically accurate to your unique location! Thus, eradicating the need to worry about differences over very large cities. If, however, you have no internet or GPS access, ‘Ard offers an inbuilt database of over 20,000 cities and towns around the world. For the more seasoned explorer, ‘Ard also includes a coordinate feature so that you can fully customise your location in more remote parts of the world. ‘Ard also gives you the option to display prayer times in your phone's time zone, without the need to worry about conversions. An Accurate Qibla Feature: A popular way of determining the Qibla direction is with a magnetic compass, however, the direction of true north can be very different from the north in which a compass points. This is due to two major reasons: the Earth's magnetic field is not aligned with its geographic north pole (otherwise known as variation). Secondly, nearby electronics/magnetic materials can change your local magnetic field. ‘Ard therefore uses a map view so that you can reference your surroundings, making the Qibla direction fully reliable. 'Ard still, however, comes equipped with a Qibla compass if needed, which automatically compensates for Earth's magnetic variation, while showing the Sun and Moon positions as a further reference. In-Flight Prayer Times: From inside an aircraft, it can sometimes be hard to determine prayer times. Therefore, 'Ard also includes a rare feature that allows you to access estimated prayer times during a flight, to use as a guide. This feature also helps you identify when the sun may never rise or set on high latitude flight paths, so as to reduce the chance of unintentionally missing some prayers.
