We are a national research centre with the goal of creating a sustainable bioeconomy for Australia. Synthetic biology is uniquely placed to mitigate climate change and other human-induced catastrophes. Microbes can be employed to turn industrial waste into useful products. Carbon from fossil fuels can be captured for use in the circular economy.
