Research Services

Overview

Anderson Materials Evaluation is an independent materials analysis laboratory established in 1995 offering materials testing and characterization, failure analysis, quality control, materials verification, materials problem-solving for manufacturers, and materials and process research and development services. We also consult and provide expert witness services based on our laboratory materials analysis results. We offer expert XPS surface analysis, x-ray emission spectroscopy (WD-XRF & EDS), infrared absorption spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal analysis, optical and electron microscopy, UV-visible light absorption and reflectivity measurements, gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy, residual gas mass spectroscopy, corrosion analysis and electrochemistry, and mechanical testing. Our services for materials analysis range from nanomaterials through surface treatments, thin films and coatings, to bulk materials. Our materials analysis laboratory has extensive experience with metal, polymer, organic and inorganic chemicals, mineral, ceramic, glass, semiconductor, and composite materials analyses performed for virtually any industry that uses materials. Our analytical capabilities include: XPS Surface Analysis (elemental and chemical phase analyses) FTIR Infrared Spectroscopy with ATR Wavelength-Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectroscopy Corrosion & Electrochemistry Investigations Thermal Analysis (TGA, DSC, TMA for CTE) Scanning Electron Microscopy X-ray Emission Spectroscopy, EDS 3D Optical Microscopy (Keyence 7000N) with Surface Profiling & Roughness Measurements and LIBS Elemental Analysis Optical Microscopy, Inspection and Metallographic with Nomarski Imaging Ultraviolet - Visible Spectroscopy, Transmission and Reflection Residual Gas Mass Spectroscopy Metallography and Fractography Polariscopy Density and Porosity Surface Contact Angle Measurements Mechanical Testing (tension, compression, bending, lapshear testing)
