Overview
Akdeniz Shipyard was established in 2007, in the southern part of Turkey by Ceyhan-Yumurtalık region. Akdeniz Shipyard is the only shipyard located in Free Zone area in south of Turkey which has activities in both new building , repair & maintenance and construction of industrial plants. Having a total area of 210.000 m2, within the private sector, Akdeniz Shipyard holds the distinction of being the largest shipyard of Turkey and Eastern Mediterranean in terms of area and capacity. The services to be provided in the shipyard are listed below: - Shipbuilding services: The company is able to build a wide portfolio of ships consisting of dry cargo ships, chemical tankers, off shore supply vessels, shallow draft tugboats, multi tags, landing crafts, multi cats, fishing vessels, pontoon barges, bunker barges, ships with individual design, yachts and boats and military vessels. - Ship repair and maintenance services (R&M): All types of vessels could be served for their R&M requirements such as cleaning, scraping, painting, engine overhaul and general services such as providing electricity, fresh water, heat & steam, etc. The shipyard has acquired a 820 tons capacity Travel Lift, making the investment biggest Travel Lift in Turkey and only the 10th biggest in the world, in terms of capacity. - Ship conversion services: The shipyard could provide ship conversion services, i.e. changing the structure/configuration of vessels in order to enable them to carry out a different purpose such as conversion of chemical tankers to bulk carriers. AKDENİZ Shipyard was awarded by ISO 9001:2008 – ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 18001:2007 certificates.
