African Angels. A school for the community.

Non-profit Organization Management

Overview

African Angels is a school for the community, who are dedicated to providing disadvantaged children with a quality primary school education, so they can break the cycle of poverty they were born into, and change their futures, and those of their families and community, for the better. The school is located in the rural village of Chintsa East, just outside East London in the Eastern Cape. Our vision is to see each child reach their full potential, and grow into fine South African citizens. Our mission is to equip each child with sound values, educational and life skills, insight and character, in order to become mature, stable and productive members of society, allowing them to reach their full potential. The school was established in 2012 and has over 140 learners aged 6 – 14 years enrolled in grades R - 7. We provide a well-rounded education; creating an environment that is conducive to learning; supporting our vision that every child reaches their full potential. Our children live in two nearby townships, and on surrounding farms just outside East London in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. All the children come from circumstances where they experience significant socioeconomic disadvantage. We partner with parents in the education of their child. Our parents are active members of the school community. “A person is a person because of people.” African Angels is a registered non profit organisation, with tax deductible status under Section 18(a) of the Income Tax Act.
