Overview

The Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL) is dedicated to empowering and supporting young professionals in the energy sector across Africa to become skilled workers who will advance Africa's electrification. AFYEL fosters innovation, collaboration, and leadership among young energy enthusiasts, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to address Africa's energy challenges and drive sustainable development. The goal is to churn out competent workforce for the renewable energy industry and build entrepreneurs who will advance access to clean energy to 600 Million in Africa without Access and speed up the transition to renewable, cleaner energies. The program offers the knowledge of international experts on four groups of renewable energy technologies: * Solar PV (utility-scale and small-scale) * Onshore Wind * Bioenergy * Small-scale Hydropower With regards to three core aspects: * Engineering * Economics * Financing And with a focus on Africa. The program also aims to create a networking platform for participants in order to maximize impact.
