Overview

ANWERC is the only national recognized research center to address water and environmental challenges of Afghanistan. This center is established in 2018 and operate under the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. This center is linked with all universities of Afghanistan and recognized as a platform for research activities. This center is working in six committees: 1- Hydrology, meteorology and climate change 2- Hydrogeology and geophysics 3- GIS & Remote sensing 4- Irrigation, drainage and transboundary water 5- Dam and Hydraulic structures 6- Water supply, environment, and energy This center is providing research opportunities; in addition, this center is closely working with government and international organizations and research donors on seeking funds and implementing the research projects across Afghanistan. Vision Solving the water and environment problems of Afghanistan using scientific research, experiences, and skills of academic and professional members.
