Overview

Aero Sekur has its roots in the history of Irvin Manifatture Industriali, an Italian Company born in the 1960’s and specialized in the manufacturing of textile equipment (mainly parachutes and aero-braking systems) for military applications. In the 1980s, Irvin acquired Sekur, a branch of Pirelli, the renowned brand in the field of rubber technology. Through this acquisition, new business lines and capabilities entered in the Company portfolio, including equipment for personal protection, flexible fuel tanks and a range of equipment based on the use of technological fabrics and their application in all environments. From this achievement, the Aero Sekur was born, merging the background and the technological skills of the two Companies into a highly specialized, strategic and competitive player in both military and civil markets. It was in 1990 that the Company established its premises in Aprilia, strategically positioned a few kilometers away from Rome and its airports. In 2017 the former Aero Sekur S.p.A. was split into two separate entities, reflecting the former organization of the Company in two main business lines (Airborne and Defence). As the range of products and applications is various and the number of Customers is keeping growing across the years, the Company is committed to innovation and to create new applications for its core technologies, which are continuously improved and implemented. Today Aero Sekur is a Tier One leading provider of advanced survival equipment and systems for mission-critical air and ground vehicles. The Company designs, manufactures and maintains a suite of key safety and survival systems and services for the Aerospace & Defence industry, including: Helicopter Emergency Flotation Systems, External Liferaft Systems, Crashworthy Fuel Systems.
