Overview

The ACT Human Rights Commission promotes the human rights and welfare of all people living in the ACT. Respect and protection of human rights underpins all our work. The Commission: • handles complaints about health, disability and community services; and complaints under discrimination law • increases awareness of the rights and responsibilities of service users and service providers; and encourages improvements in services • advises government and others about their human rights obligations • provides advocacy for children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability. • advocates for and supports victims of crime.
