Overview

In 2018 after visiting Mozambique and meeting some of the poorest children in the world 8x8 to Educate was born. A social enterprise, 8x8 to Educate, donates 100% of the profits to education in developing nations. Currently we have three main income streams, a book written by Natasha Yates called Rina’s Story, an annual Art Competition and personal and company Sponsorships. Our first Art Competition/Exhibition in 2019 managed to raise $9425.00, this was donated to Mission Educate to be used by the King of Kings school to further the education of approximately 2000 students in Mozambique. $1200 was set aside to set up some micro businesses in August 2020. It is hoped that these Micro businesses will help the local economy to grow and introduce young ladies to entrepreneurial skills through a program we are currently developing. With an aim to see these skills develop to a point where the young girls and the community could be sustainable. Through our sponsorship work we have been able to facilitate the donation 105 Surface Pro computers, school supplies, building material, furniture, tools, etc all of which were desperately needed after the King of Kings school in Mozambique was hit by a cyclone in 2019. We have been fortune to have these activities recognized by the local and international community, winning the Women in Business Rising Star for 2018 and being awarded 5 International Stevie Awards in New York. The work of Founder Katura Halleday was the subject of an Internationally award winning short film which was presented to the United Nations in Feb 2020. This acknowledgement has given 8x8 To Educate the platform to highlight the issues of Educational Equality.
