The 27th edition of the World Championship will feature the participation of 32 teams for the first time following the IHF 's decision to increase the teams from 24 to 32. The championship will take place from 13 to 31 January 2021 and it will be held in four venues; three of which are new and were specifically built for this event ; The New Capital Hall, Borg Al-Arab Hall and the 6 October Hall in addition to the renowned Cairo Stadium Indoor Hall.
