Dusty was a great contractor to work with. He is incredibly knowledgeable about drones and the utility industry. His past experience in substations and doing thermal scans really makes him an asset. His technology he has created works great to get results quickly. I would recommend Dusty to anybody.

I've had the pleasure of working with Dusty for the past two years. Prior to meeting Dusty and being introduced to V.O.L.T., we had no way to offer our inspection services to the utility industry. His abilities in solution architecture enabled us to marry our customer's needs and the service we knew we could offer. I consider him an innovator in the UAV community and hope to work with him for many years to come.

Exit #1: I completed an exit and sale of this venture in 2021. VOLT was the software service marketed as part of UAV Recon. As the original Architect & Founder, I self-funded the startup and team that quickly scaled to a nationally recognized drone based inspection company with over $1M in total revenues, and profitable on year 1. Managed growth of 2X YoY revenue and nearly a dozen multi-year service contracts. During my tenure, UAV Recon was known to deliver decision ready data on electrical infrastructure, faster and more comprehensive than other service providers, without AI/ML technology. I personally flew thousands of power-line structures and over 450+ substation flights; which in addition to prior experiences, is where I refined my knowledge and become one of the industries leading subject matter experts in the drone-utility industry. I focused on initiatives of boosting system maintenance optimization via drone data. A solid understanding of utility operations is how my team was able to implement such effective programs and services, including growth YoY during the COVID-19 crisis. Show less

Ambitious and dedicated technical sales professional with a track record proving to exceeded goals as a team player and a desire to remain customer oriented. Some Accomplishments Included: -While exceeding sales goals and requirements (Sales Growth +15% YoY), I designed & implemented a beta test group onto the Salesfoce.com platform, for a team of (25) sales and top tier management users. This brought visibility and structure to over $30MM of business. Beta test went very well; it’s now being launched internationally. * Awarded β€œCertificate of Excellence” award from management. -I designed a (45) day marketing initiative to support the product management, marketing, and sales team on a fairly new product. The marketing concept was unique and new to Enerpac. Initiative earned 14X ROI, increased sales activity +143%, and set historic high for unit sales. -Although market conditions have been fair, I have been able to average positive YoY growth, while my strongest month has been +80% YoY. Creativity in the sales process, lead follow-up, and technical sales are my strengths within this role. Enerpac Market Sales Manager supporting end-users, distributors, and service centers within CO, WY, and MT. My responsibility includes channel growth initiatives and a mining focused vertical market. While supporting a product line of high pressure (10,000 psi) hydraulic tools and equipment; product demo's, consultative selling, safety presentations, and developing/executing distributor business plans are a portion of my responsibility within this role. • Industrial Sales Manager
      • Jan 2013 - Dec 2013

Upon completion of GE's CLP (Commercial Leadership Program), my training complimented skills necessary for an Industrial Sales Manager role. I managed national account responsibility for a $13B end user for GE Industrial Solutions. This responsibility included negotiating a master sales agreement, technical sales, project management, and account growth initiatives. While in this Industrial Sales Manager role, I also established new accounts, sales through channel partners, and developed business skills necessary for future senior management responsibilities. Face-to-face consultative selling of electrical products and electrical services captured the extent of my annual budget responsibility. Customers commonly commended my responsiveness, work-ethic, and commitment to meeting deadlines. Show less

    • Commercial Leadership Program-CLP
      • Jul 2011 - Dec 2012

In December 2012, I graduated GE's Commercial Leadership Program (CLP) and have began a Industrial Sales Manager role. While on my 3rd and final rotation in Denver, CO, my main accomplishments are outlined below: -Equipment services exceeded a 78% win-rate with no pricing appeals. -All orders CM% were won above company average. -Established sales plan for (2) main industries. (1) resulted in 100% win-rate, and (1) resulted in a 50% win-rate. In Jan 2012, my second training assignment was located in Burlington Iowa, learning/quoting low voltage switchgear. I excelled in product knowledge in less than 5 months, which then led to product training for our business. By the end of the 6 month rotation, I had earned switchgear certification and won +$1MM in orders with exceptional CM. I started GE's Commercial Leadership Program in July 2012 at Plainville CT. I learned extensive product knowledge in our Molded Case Circuit Breaker product line which greatly contributed to the launch of (3) NPI's. My most memorable experience was completing initial design and testing for a $.5MM, multi-year product configurator for our sales team. Show less
