50 Crates is a branding agency that uses anthropology-centred insights to guide its creative output. It employs the Socratic method of thinking to challenge the 'why' behind every answer. The end result is the most truthful strategy-driven expression of a brand, whether it be an internal video to inspire employees and new hires, or external communications to let the public know what our clients truly believe in. My responsibility as Creative Director is to lead all creative ideation and output from the agency. As part of this, I manage our creative team of designers, copywriters and producers, create insight-driven creative with our senior strategist and mentor our younger staff, elevating their work and supporting the development of their ideas. I also liaise and collaborate with brands, respond to creative briefs, pitch the concepts that come from them and guide clients through the process, making sure that what we create aligns with their overarching values and goals. Some key clients I've worked with: - Priceline (Chemist) - Quest (Apartment hotels) - Frasers (Property development) - ALIVE (Probiotic soft drink) Show less

Either Either is a freelance collective disguised as a studio, like three kids sitting on one-another’s shoulders underneath a trench coat. I co-founded this network of specialist illustrators, designers, writers, cinematographers, animators and more, all with a focus on (and love for) emotional messaging for health and community. This allowed us to move on projects quickly, cost-effectively and with a keen emphasis on craft, be it in film, animation, illustration or graphics. Our team could expand or contract as a project needed, meaning we were also adaptable to continually changing platforms and new technology. As storytellers, we sought the humanity in any narrative, helping clients reach their audience on an entertaining yet honest level. I am most proud of the 'Living with Covid' comedy series we developed for the University of Melbourne. This was a social media-based comedy series that aimed to reach younger Australians (12-17) who were experiencing lockdown-related mental-health issues. I collaborated with writers, editors, cinematographers, costume designers, music composers and set-builders to create a series that was not only funny, but helpful. I'm also proud of our work on ME Bank's Buck TV project, where we created an hour-long ASMR video of a Buck debit card being made by hand, from scratch. The process involved collaborating with sculptors, laser-cutter engineers and other tinkerers to create a believable, to-scale debit card live on camera. (Hot tip: Always have back-ups if you're pouring quick-dry resin while filming...) Show less

    • Freelance Designer
      • Nov 2010 - Jan 2018

I became a freelance designer during the latter two years of my time in New York. This role not only pushed my creativity to a new level, but also my approach toward business and client relationships. Whether the client was a burger-joint owner who wanted to capture the joy of sharing a meal, a property developer who desired a golden water tower in Tribeca, or a dating-app developer who wanted to illustrate shibari knot tying in the West Village, each person needed my personal assurance that their time, money and project was being handled with enthusiasm and care. I also ran online hand-lettering and design workshops on Skillshare, a web-based tutorial service. I helped students wrangle new skills and the challenges that come along with developing them, by showing empathy, patience and celebrating the little wins. Select clients include: - Birchbox (Men's style and cosmetics subscription service) - Sweetgreen (Fast-food salad chain) - Black Tux (Tuxedo rental company) - Shinola (Leather and bike accessories) - Frank Body (Beauty and lifestyle products) - Sterling Publishing (A subsidiary of Barnes & Noble) - Lululemon (Yoga & fitness wear) - Northside (Creative & tech conference) Show less

Saatchi & Saatchi is a leading global communications and advertising network known for its impactful creative ideas that generate powerful emotional connections between consumers and brands. Present in over 67 countries, Saatchi & Saatchi employs 6,500 professionals over 114 offices. Global clients include HSBC, P&G, Toyota, Visa and GSK. As Art Director at Saatchi's New York world headquarters, I worked on a range of creative concepts for some of the America's (and the world's) best-known brands, such as Walmart, Chase Bank, Tecate, and Cheerios. (A fun highlight was working on the social media content for Honey Nut Cheerios' 'Must Be The Honey' campaign in collaboration with hip-hop artist Nelly.) But my most rewarding work came from our social-justice clients. For example, I co-wrote the award-winning 'Celibacy Challenge' campaign with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), raising awareness of the FDA's unjust laws against gay and bisexual male blood donation in the USA; this campaign won a Cannes Lion, a CLIO, and is now included in MoMA's permanent collection. I also created visual elements for the 'Bill of Rights for Dumbasses' campaign for Evolve (a responsible gun ownership initiative), which took a comedic approach to encouraging firearm safety. My goal as a creative is to use my skills in advertising, writing and design to spread messages that benefit humanity in a positive, fun and relatable way. Clients I worked with during my time at Saatchi & Saatchi include: - Walmart (Supermarket chain) - Chase (Bank) - Cheerios (Breakfast cereal) - Lucky Charms (Breakfast cereal) - Pampers (Diapers) - Olay (Cosmetics) - Miller Lite (Beer) - Tecate (Beer) - Lenovo (Electronics) - Pilsbury (Frozen pastries) - Green Giant (Frozen vegetables) - Folger's (Coffee) - FiberOne (Health-food bar) Show less

Forethought is an international award-winning marketing advisory, strategy and analytics company. They partner with marketers and brands operating in B2B or B2C environments, helping them grow market share and improve their margins. I worked directly with marketing consultants to help translate their quantitative and qualitative findings into presentable data for internal client presentations. Presentation development often included copy editing, slide layout and infographic design. I also worked with the marketing department on graduate recruitment material for employment fairs, as well as general brand awareness for online and social media. I also laid out white papers and annual reports for our largest clients. I also created chalkboard murals in both of Forethought's Melbourne and New York offices, jazzing up the kitchen and frosted glass patterns in the lobby to ensure the warmth of the space (while also creatively protecting the company's privacy). My 10+ year relationship with Forethought remains today, as I still create monthly cartoons for their LinkedIn page and led the company rebrand in 2021. Show less
