      Zoë has managed or contributed to a range of environmental planning projects in Auckland over the last 12 years. As a planning consultant she provides developers, architects and landowners with planning advice on development potential, policy issues and obtaining required permissions. Previously, Zoë worked for the Environment Agency in London as a Major Projects Officer. She was the single point of contact with developers of large scale projects, with significant success in obtaining sustainable land use outcomes. Prior to this Zoë worked in the private sector in London and New Zealand on commercial projects, local, regional and national government projects. Recently these projects included notified applications, hearing attendance and preparation and presentation of Environment Court evidence. Zoë has extensive practical knowledge of the Resource Management Act, Auckland Council District Plans and the regional plans. Zoë has recently been involved in promoting sustainable development in New Zealand, with her most recent passion being the encouragement of living roofs and green infrastructure. She has had articles published in Planning in London magazine on green roofs and effects-based planning, and Architecture NZ magazine. Show less

      Zoë has particular expertise in managing mixed-use developments involving multi-disciplinary teams. Zoë has successfully managed a number of large scale developments from design through the planning process, including apartments in Grey Lynn, mixed use developments and subdivisions. Recently she managed the design and consenting process of Boomrock Kauri Bay, a non-complying function centre and outdoor recreation activities in the rural production area of Clevedon (www.kauribayboomrock.co.nz - https://vimeo.com/162741592) on a non-notified basis. Zoë has also been assisting a Planning Commissioner with his client work for over two years, developing strong relationships with consultants and Auckland Council. She was involved a number of large scale apartment and mixed use developments in London as Majors Projects Lead for the Environment Agency, including Greenwich Peninsula (190 acre regeneration development), Greenwich Millennium Village and Tilfen development. Zoë provided sustainable development advice, specifically on managing flood risk; surface water; waste and preventing pollution; encouraging the preservation and enhancement of wildlife and green spaces; wise water use; land affected by contamination and sustainable construction.Zoë is involved in promoting sustainable development in New Zealand, including the encouragement of living roofs and green infrastructure. She is a Board Member and Treasurer for Green Roofs Australasia and a member of the World Green Infrastructure Network. She is the Director of Living Roofs New Zealand, an independent organisation that encourages environmentally sustainable design to deliver better quality places to live and work; create a better and more sustainable New Zealand; help us adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change; and create low carbon communities.She is currently researching Living Roof Urbanism, finalising her Masters in Landscape Architecture by Design.
