      City of Cape Town ( Occupational Health & Safety ) Clerk 03 : COID CLAIMS PRACTITIONER Job Purpose: To obtain from line management and thereafter process necessary documentation required in respect of claims to be lodged according to the provisions of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 130 of 1993 (COID), setting standards and procedures and thereby compile and complete required COID claims files for submission to the City’s centralised Administration office for purposes of claim adjudication and payment of benefits to employees or their dependants as well service providers. Duties: 1. Verify staff details in respect of the Employers Report of Accident through correlating all relevant detail submitted against SAP records in order to ensure correct reflection of same on the Employers Report of Accident 2. Liaise with line management and/or service providers for the submission of outstanding claim documentation through all means of inter-action in order to ensure that the correct compilation of claim files as required for adjudication and payment of benefits is procured. 3. Interact with the Occupational Health and Safety Branch divisional units, i.e. Occupational Safety, Occupational Health and Fleet Risk Control, to pursue incident investigations and obtain assistance for the submission of outstanding claim documentation through necessary communication procedures in order to expedite receipt of outstanding claim documentation and related investigation reports when so required. 4. Perform general administrative functions through the application of required registry, filling and help desk procedures in order to ensure efficient and prompt service delivery within the COID claims administrative co-ordinating component.
