A sidekick at Ragnar Swimming Team (Erasmus University Rotterdam) is a swimming coach's aid. We help with the smooth flow of trainings, instructing swimmers with exercises, trainings and technique. As a beginner's sidekick, my role is to encourage those new to swimming, help them improve their technique and provide adequate feedback or even introduces them to swimming. Occasionally, this also means swimming with them to ensure that technique is well-understood and so that they can visualise it, and feel more comfortable when swimming. Show less

Sep 2021 - Present
As a member of the Erasmus University Rotterdam Skating Association's activity committee, my role is to bring members together and organise social events. Some notable occasions include the annual team gala, members' weekend, and other, smaller-themed activities like Halloween or New Year's brunch. Such organisation requires planning, stress resistance and proper communication skills. During my second year on the committee, I also organise team meetings, during which we plan and schedule activities. Additionally, I take on the role of translating and spell-checking social media posts and help our association secretary with event promoting. Show less

EUCYS (European Union Contest for Young Scientists) is an international and one of the most prestigious science competitions for pre-university students aged 14-20. During the event, I was the sidekick for the Spanish and Polish delegations, as well as assisted with community care tasks. My tasks involved but were not limited to, communicating with the delegation prior to and during the event and supporting them throughout the event, helping with the smooth flow of the contest, which consisted of ensuring a proper flow of the judging rounds, guiding school visits around the venue and occasionally assisting participants in case their projects required additional preparation.
