      I worked as the national microbiologist based in Sydney, responsible for pathology oversight of infectious disease testing. I contributed to preparation, revision and updates of clinical policies, testing algorithms, work instructions and standard operating procedures related to infection control, infectious disease testing and donor counselling. I liaised with internal and external stakeholders in relation to pathology oversight, infection control and microbiological issues. I provided ongoing advice on the significance of positive blood cultures and contributed to reports for internal use as well as yearly data entry incorporated into “Transfusion- transmissible infections in Australia”- yearly Surveillance Report (Kirby Institute, UNSW Australia).I also provided expert advice on quality control and process control in relation to prevention of microbial contamination of blood products.       HealthPathways is a web-based information portal supporting primary care clinicians to plan patient care through our primary, community and secondary health care systems within Inner West Sydney. HealthPathways are designed to be used at the point of care, primarily for General Practitioners but is also available to Hospital Specialists, Nurses, Allied Health and other Health Professionals within Inner West Sydney. I was one of the first Clinical Editors in Inner West Sydney Medicare Local Area. My role was to develop Health Pathways on particular topics selected during stakeholder meetings, and to liaise with specialists and allied health professionals from area hospitals (RPAH, Concord and Canterbury). I wrote several health pathways, including topics such as "Hospital in the home", dermatology, smoking, alcohol and other drug addictions.

I was a member of several Infection Control Committees in various private Sydney hospitals.
