In order to better understand how a huge company operates, I joined CTHR after I completed my MPA. CTHR is one of the largest HR services company in China.-I join CT as a management trainee, the insights provided during this period of training, enhanced my confidence and opened my mind on how big businesses interact with each other.-One of my main functions was to participate in bidding of contracts. Through that, I found out that I LOVE WINNING. The feeling of winning my first bid was incredible, I was so happy and elated. I discovered that being competitive was inherent in me and I enjoy the selling, bidding and pitching processes. One thing I discovered about myself during the management training phase, was that I disliked how our internal departments fail to communicate effectively with each other. There was infighting among departments occasionally due to inadequate resources, although work eventually got done, it was unproductive. This will definitely not be repeated in my own start-up, lesson learnt.-Another area that I’m glad CT was able to educate me was the importance of automation and processes. Through automation, a lot of time and effort could be saved and everyone will be doubly productive. The management training also opened my eyes to the importance of processes! With processes, everyone can be sure of what they’re doing and if someone has resigned, with proper processes, a new person can take over and hit the ground running.

-This is the job that made me realize, I can be more than what I really am. For this, I would like to thank all the managers at CKGSB that made it possible.-The job scope that I signed up for was to be an admin assistant, however, I did more and more as the days went by. Not only did I helped out in accounting and HR, the company also provided me a chance to study Havard Business Cases, develop my data mining skills and my managers also taught me how to analyze a business well.Putting all these together, I also had the opportunity to learn how VCs, investors and shareholders think. I am sure, this will be invaluable to my own start-up, in the future.-I also had helped with the operation and maintenance of the CKGSB official social media accounts. From that, I understood that having a good social media presence is essential.-Lastly, some boring but necessary experience was imparted to me in the areas of sourcing/supplier negotiations, copywriting, helping to generate monthly BCI reports, and briefing the European and Korean offices on the monthly BCI reports.
