I manage and run a boutique charity shop in the Centre of Canterbury. We specialise in vintage and eccentric, individual items, often getting premium rates on unusual items! Merchandising the shop correctly is key, and we rearrange the shop at least once a week, usually twice, dependent on the stock we receive.I manage a team of around 30 volunteers, both on the shop floor and in the stock room.Myself and my assistant manager recruit and train volunteers to maximise productivity within our shop, and try to find the best places for people to get the most experience. We reach out Gift Aid budgets and targets for the store, and are growing as a store week by week.I cultivate relationships with customers and donors to ensure loyalty, and the maximise donation possibilities.Constantly refreshing stock with new and different items. Maintaining fresh looking shop floor by culling and sending stock to other shops within the charity regularly.Health and safety training for all volunteers. Show less

Ensuring upselling on offers is happening, and ensuring correct menus given out. Cashing up and doing end of day reconciliations for staff and myself. Helping management achieve their targets. Fully trained barista, in charge of training other members of staff. Training staff about the menus, and details of each dish and side. Setting up and running of bar if needed, and creating desserts as needed. Show less

Sales Associate for Aubade
-
Sep 2004 - Oct 2004
As the sales associate for Aubade, I had a large knowledge of the styles, sizes and fits of the Aubade range. I was a head bra fitter within the lingerie department. Ability to recommend styles and cuts according to bust size and shape. Having a wide knowledge of other brands, online retailers and their fits and styles. Offering great customer service, and adapting behaviours to the individual customers. I was in charge of merchandising and restocking the entire Aubade section. Liasing with Aubade to place orders, and ensuring knowledge was up to date Upselling was key, encouraging other members of the team to upsell on brands they were unsure of. Unfortunately due to the cost of the commute and being unable to find a place to live, I had to resign after only 2 months. Show less

Brand knowledge of all three brands of lingerie carried. Knowledge from personal product reviews of the fit, comfort and size issues of individual models. We received 2 free sets of lingerie a month to evaluate, to pass on our thoughts. Bra fitting and recommending specific bras. First time bra fittings, so sensitivity needed. Generating higher sales, with upselling and brand knowledge. Giving excellent customer service on both the shop floor and the fitting room. Cash handling on the tills, and helping do the end of day reads. Organising the stock rooms each season to keep shop floor fresh and up to date. Show less
