To make a ski trail for the Edina Nordic Ski Team and the city for practice and other activities when off season. We were in charge of making a new cross country ski trail for the school team for two weeks to give back to the community and team that had done so much for us. We first marked it off and then started to chop down trees. We pulled out the weeds and shrubs to continue the transformation. This took a lot of work and we documented our progress every day. Our adviser came by everyday and told us what we needed to do next as well as use the chain saw for the trees we could not cut down. By the end of this time, we were very pleased with our work and could not wait for the community to start using it. This trail could be used for running/ walking on the off season but nordic ski during the winter. -Team of 3 with 2 Advisors overseeing the project -Researched best ways to remove buckthorn and clean a trail through the woods -Used axes, chain saws, clippers, shovels, and a wood chipper to clear a trail through the woods -Presented accomplishments and trail after the two week project was completed Show less

Every Saturday during January and February, I would go out and be in charge of a group from 4 to 8 children wanting to learn how to ski. We would have a different lesson each week as well as try to incorporate fun into the program whenever we could. I had a wonderful time and actually went through the ski school while growing up.
