  As part of the senior leadership team, I lead a team of four staff and a network of freelancers to deliver the Crafts Council’s formal learning, community and youth programmes. I design long-term strategy, fundraise, manage budgets, evaluate and support the team to develop their work. Key areas include:Learning:- Delivery of Craft School, a national challenge to get learners and teachers making together, engaging 736 learners in its first year- The development and dissemination of our Make First pedagogy, which uses hands-on making to develop learners’ problem-solving, resilience and risk-taking skills- Supporting a growing community of teachers, craft educators and FE and HE course leaders through online and in-person CPD and networking- Online resources and content to support craft learning in the classroom and at home- National advocacy for creative education (engagement with APPG for Art, Craft and Design Education, Creative Industries Council Education and Skills group etc.) and delivery of conferences and symposia Participation:- Young Craft Citizens, a youth-led programme that creates an alternative pathway into the craft and creative sectors for young people who struggle to access traditional creative education routes.   - Management of formal learning programmes including Make Your Future, which worked with 72 schools nationwide, bringing together teachers, makers and Higher Education partners to reinvigorate craft in the secondary classroom. - Development of Young Craft Citizens, the Crafts Council’s first youth voice programme.- A suite of community engagement programmes supporting making in community settings, from primary schools to makerspaces.

  As one of three Heads of Department, I led on the management and strategic development of all aspects of Visitor Experience at the American Museum in Britain. Management of a multi-disciplinary team comprising three managers and part-time, seasonal, and volunteer staff at a museum with an average annual visitation of 50 000.
