As a product manager, I worked with Zoe on Black Swan Data's suite of internal web applications. Her meticulous approach and attention to detail were invaluable in addressing numerous usability and performance issues. Always thinking outside the box and off of the 'happy path', Zoe considers aspects of the software which others may overlook.

Taran Acutt

Zoe is an extremely capable tester, confident with both manual and automation approaches. Joining at a time where Black Swan had minimal front end automation coverage, Zoe was tasked created a suite of tests using testcafe that saved the QA team weeks of manual testing time over the past year and at a very high standard. A pleasure to work with and would be happy if I had the chance to do so again.

I am responsible for the creation of two testing frameworks within the company, one based on Testcafe which we use for end to end test - smoke and regressions - this is currently being replaced by a Playwright base framework. These frameworks are written in typescript, and run on docker and semaphore, reporting results to datadog. I was responsible for the initial integration between the testcafe framework and datadog.I am also responsible for our load testing framework, which is based on K6. Again written in typescript, at present tests are written ad-hoc for new features or events, though I am investigating the possibility of regular performance based testing using our development environments. We also have a tiny datadog synthetics browser test that I authored which runs on our live systems every 15 minutes in the UK and the US, on chrome and firefox, this checks key functionality Show less

One of a QA team of 2 developers, tasked with automating and ad-hoc testing a number of internal and external applications which together made up https://www.blackswan.com/trendscope/. I was the Front End tester. I created an automation system for use by data analysts so they could check their monthly datasets as they became ready, this used node-js, Testcafe, docker, git and parameterized Jenkins jobs. I had also created a smoke test to be run on fortnightly sprint build of this product, and was working on a smoke test for on of the internal products responsible for curating the ontologies of terms used to link the data together. As well as creating the two UI E2E automation project I was the QA team member on 3 other teams, and was responsible for testing new features and ad-hoc testing each release of those internal application. Responsible for the innovation of testing automation for our global Statutory Reporting web platform. Also day to day responsible for the functional and end to end testing of this web platform using cucumber, protractor, testcafe and other technologies. We test the functionality of our app without the UI, as UI testing is slow, fragile and out of date rapidly. We have some UI testing but they are only small smoke tests designed to ensure that everything is roughly connected, or UI tests with a mocked back end to test the UI. Show less

Conversion of original manual desktop app testing scripts to automated using QTP, driven from an excel sheet to allow easy definition by a BA. Transition from desktop app to microservice based webapp. Creation of service testing and introduction of protractor testing project. We changed from waterfall to agile during this period.

I was the sole member of staff responsible for ensuring that CRAY to IBM connectivity products were developed according to good quality practices and that errors were detected before products were sold to the customer. Being the only member of the UK team with IBM product knowledge to transfer to the United States, I was responsible for the transfer of products from the UK team to the new US team. I developed a suite of programs to generate sets of tests for the products our team had responsibility for. I was also responsible for organising alpha and field tests. Upon product release I was the primary focus for products in their initial settling down period. Show less
