Worked with PhD student Amir Bitran under the supervision of Prof Eugene Shakhnovich to develop inhibitors (both de novo and from chemical libraries) against misfolded co-translational intermediates of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain. This was done with extensive use a variety of molecular simulation routines (HF geometry optimization, MD, MM/PBSA) and analysed with cheminformatics tools. I worked alone under the supervision of Dr Jun Rong Ong on the project of 'Optimization of wide-angle planar micro-optic solar concentrator systems for deployment in tropics'. High-performance computations and machine optimisation were carried out to optimise lenslet arrays that can be used to collect the maximum amounts of solar power in tropical regions. I published a first-author paper at the end of the two-month internship.
