City University of Hong Kong's Green Roofs Over Walls (GROW) Program is supported by the CityU Campus Sustainability Fund. It strengthens the education of CityU students about rooftop gardening and green spaces by hands-on planting and caring of vegetables on the 92 sq. meter rooftop garden. In coordination with other students, I grow crops in the garden in order to learn about the possibilities and obstacles of green roofs. This project involves elder people from the community in order to cultivate relationships between different generations and mindsets. The food produced is donated to a local restaurant in a low-income community in order to provide cheaper and healthier option for dining in the area.
